State Minister in the Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry, Hon. Floyd Green (left), presents Ynoquie Wedderburn with the bio-economy award, at the annual accountability seminar and cocktail reception of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in St. Andrew on December 4. The award was presented to her for recognition of her development of natural cosmetic products from the bee-keeping enterprise and application of organic treatments for pest and diseases.

National Youth in Agriculture Policy to be completed next year

Floyd Green, says the National Youth in Agriculture Policy is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2020. The Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA) has issued its 50th licence for operations in the medical cannabis industry. The Montego Bay-based Outlier Biopharma Limited was presented with the permit to operate a retail herbal house (without facility for consumption) during a ceremony on Wednesday (December 4), at the CLA’s New Kingston offices. Minister Calls On Farmers To Write Letters For Road Repairs

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries is calling on farmers to write formal letters with requests for road repairs in their communities.
