Hon. Audley Shaw, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, views plantain chips produced by Gary Green of May Pen in Clarendon. Mr Green, who is a member of the Clarendon Youth in Business group, also produces coco chips and essential oils. The occasion was the Clarendon Agro-Economic Symposium held at the St. Gabriel’s Anglican Church Hall in May Pen on April 9, 2019. Organised by the Clarendon Municipal Corporation under the theme ‘Creating Effective Linkages… Unlocking Clarendon’s Agro Growth,’ the symposium was aimed at sensitizing farmers to the various economic opportunities available to them in the agricultural sector.
Welcome to the official website of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries.
The Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries (MICAF) has been charged with the responsibility of driving the integration of the production of primary agricultural produce along all the stages of the supply chain through to value added and facilitating full commercialization of outputs of the agriculture, manufacturing, and service sectors.
We have, therefore, placed much energy and enthusiasm into the development of this website to provide timely information on the Ministry, our agencies and programmes.
